We currently have several
vacancies for:
ASSISTANT
REFEREE - Battlefield Sports (Part Time, Casual)
Purpose
of the Position
As
a member of the Laser Skirmish crew our purpose is to
provide a fun, safe, entertaining experience which exceeds
our customer expectations. This position will assist the
Session Manager at the Brisbane/Gold Coast battlefields.
The Assistant Referee reports to the Session Manager.
Major
Duties
-
Arrive
on time, in complete uniform – including covered
shoes or boots - and well groomed.
-
Greet
all customers with a happy, friendly demeanour by
smiling and making eye contact.
-
Assist
the Session Manager, with duties such as equipment
preparation, unpacking, assisting in running combat
games, packing up as required.
-
Pro-actively
ensure our customers are having fun and encourage them
to enjoy the games. Help new players in a patient,
pleasant way.
-
Referee
games in the battlefield in an assertive manner to
ensure a safe, fair game for all players.
-
Provide
basic first aid, if required.
-
Advise
management immediately if there are any customer
complaints or problems which you are unable to
resolve.
-
Perform
regular maintenance checks and duties during a shift
to ensure the armoury/battlefield is clean and neat at
all times.
-
Complete
your time sheet and hand to your Session Manager.
-
Participate
in marketing activities as required, for example LAN
demonstrations, filming of television segments.
Selection
Criteria
-
Be
a confident and responsible team member that can be
demonstrated by appropriate work experience.
-
Demonstrated
dexterity and physical fitness requirements.
-
Have
excellent customer service skills.
-
Have
a current Senior First Aid Certificate, or better.
SESSION
MANAGER - Battlefield Sports (Part-time, Casual)
Purpose
of the Position
As
a member of the Laser Skirmish crew our purpose is to
provide a fun, safe, entertaining experience which exceeds
our customer expectations. This position will run Laser
Skirmish sessions at the Brisbane/Gold Coast battlefields.
Major
Duties
-
Arrive
on time, in complete uniform – including covered
shoes or boots - and well groomed.
-
Pick
up company vehicle in good time to drive to the
battlefield.
-
Supervise
Laser Skirmish crew, managing equipment preparation,
unpacking, running combat games, packing up as
required including a careful inventory count on
arrival and after each session
-
Greet
all customers with a happy, friendly demeanour by
smiling and making eye contact.
-
Pro-actively
ensure our customers are having fun and encourage them
to enjoy the games. Help new players in a patient,
pleasant way.
-
Referee
games in the battlefield in an assertive manner to
ensure a safe, fair game for all players.
-
Be
responsible for the shift revenue ensuring player
registration is properly performed, money is kept
secure and all sales are recorded in the sales
journal.

Perform
session and mission briefings in an enthusiastic and
entertaining yet professional manner
-
Organise
teams and missions.
-
Organise
the sale of drinks between missions.
-
Resolve
customer complaints or problems, if any.
-
Ensure
the armoury/battlefield is clean and neat at all
times.
-
Provide
basic first aid, if required.
-
Ensure
that all players have a correctly completed Membership
Form and issue Membership Cards at the conclusion of
the session.
-
Act
as the leader in an emergency situation, and ensure
accurate documentation is recorded eg incident reports
are logged, if needed.
-
Complete
your time sheet and ensure that your session staff
have completed and signed their time sheet and return
with the company vehicle.
-
Participate
in marketing activities as required, for example LAN
demonstrations, filming of television segments.
-
Basically
you’re in charge of making everything happen
smoothly to ensure every player has the best possible
time.
Selection
Criteria
-
Be
a confident and responsible leader that can be
demonstrated by appropriate work experience.
-
Demonstrated
dexterity and physical fitness requirements.
-
Demonstrated confident and entertaining public
speaker skills.
-
Have
excellent customer service skills.
-
Have
an open driver’s license (A-class Manual), and have
their own transport (evidence of Rating 1 is
desirable).
-
Have
a current Senior First Aid Certificate, or better.
