Disclaimer/Membership Form
Everyone has to complete the membership form before playing, please download and complete http://www.laserskirmish.com/membershipform.pdf  Note, parent's signature required for under 18's.

What options do we have if we don't have 15 players for a private group?
We have several options to join our regular sessions your choice of Petrie, Mt Cotton or Mt Tamborine. See the SEQ home page for times & locations. Or call us on 1300 666 559.

Where are you Located?
We are mobile and can go anywhere in South East Queensland for private groups, current venues for regular sessions can be found at http://www.laserskirmish.com/seq/default.htm  or phone us 1300 666 559.

What do I bring?
For all sessions bring insect repellent, covered shoes and a water bottle. Many players also bring their own two way radios for team communications and to listen in on the enemy's channel. For existing members remember to bring your membership cards and for everyone else make sure you bring completed and appropriately signed membership forms.

For the U/13's sessions only, you must wear your own long pants (dark camouflage is best). In the under 13's session small pants are available for rent $3.00.

For all other sessions a complete outfit is provided so we recommend that you come in shorts and a t-shirt and then pull our clothes over the top.

We recommend that you don't bring a hat, because we provide special hats to all players to designate teams and to mount the sensors on.

It is a condition of play that every must wear covered shoes and long pants.

What if it rains?
We play, unless it is a thunderstorm. If we have to abandon play, we refund pro-rata on time. Playing in the rain is very authentic :)

Do I get clothes?
For all sessions except U/14 we provide complete camouflage outfits at no additional cost. Most of our wardrobe are US woodlands coveralls, however there are significant quantities of auscam pants, auscam long sleeve tops, some auscam t-shirts and also army greens. There are even some exotic camouflage patterns available such as British jungle pattern. All the clothes used are professionally cleaned each time they have been worn.

How do you die, once you die is that it, end of your day?
No, that would be way too hard. In the beginners all missions have quite a few "re-spawns" and it takes 8 hits before you die and need a "re-spawn."
A "re-spawn" is when you have been tagged out, your gun is automatically disabled and you return to your start point where the referee turns your gun on with his/her key and throws you back into the game. Still in the more advanced missions we have in the open session, it is possible to be shot right out of a mission, but then you play the next one.

How do I know your dead?
The guns says on the display "dead", you gun won't work anymore and there is a loud death sound when you take the last hit point of damage reducing your health to zero. When a player dies, he must remove his/her hat immediately.

How do I know you have hit someone?
Generally you can hear the ouch noise the opponents guns make when the player is hit and you can hear this at 40+ metres. A upgrade to the system is currently in progress that has bright hyperbright red LED's in the sensor domes that flash each time they player is hit. These hyperbrights are easy to see down a telescopic scope.

Which missions do we get to play?
A beginners session will have the following missions (see below). Or, if you are organising a private group booking we can design missions to suit you. For example we have done a sci-fi theme, and a WWII day. Just ask us and we can make it happen for you.

Death Match - Eliminate the other team - this mission each team gets unlimited replacements/re-spawns . Replacements are taken from your base and everyone gets 8 hit points (hits they can take before they must go back and get a replacement). The mission is over after 25-30 minutes, the team that has taken the least replacements wins. This mission is great warm-up because every player, plays the whole mission and its very forgiving of mistakes.

2 x Base Assault. This mission is played twice because one team is the attacker and one team is the defender, so we want each team to try both positions. This mission is to have the nearest survivor to the flag after 25-30 minutes. The attackers will generally get more replacements, than the defenders. Each team will have between 5 and 8 hit points. Usually the defenders also get 1 or more
claymore mines!

Do you have an overall health status or do you just die after taking a hit?
You have a health status which drops one every time you are hit. Beginners session this is between 5-8 hit points, in advanced open sessions this can be between 1 and 5, typically 2. The lower the number the more realistic but harder.

How much does 1 game cost? What do you get?...
We don't charge on a single game basis, we charge per session, which can either be 1.15 hours and all day, the first half hour is your mission briefing, kit out, photo opportunity etc). Because we limit registrations in each session to the number of guns (currently about 95 although this will increase to around 150 by May 2004), every player, plays every mission during a session. The current price list can be found at www.laserskirmish.com/seq/prices.htm

How do I learn more about winning tactics?.
In each addition of Lock and Load that comes out each quarter there is an article on winning tactics, you can download Lock and Loads from http://www.battlefieldsports.com/owners/publications.htm  or read about tactics in HTML format at http://www.laserskirmish.com/tactics.htm

NB. Everyone has to complete the membership form before playing, please download and complete http://www.laserskirmish.com/membershipform.pdf  Note, parent's signature required for under 18's.
