Mission: Fire on Volga
Scenario length: 45 minutes

Behind the Barrikady, 27th October 1942

Background
For the Russians, this was rapidly becoming another critical day in defence of  ruined city.  Elements of the German 79th Infantry Division had pushed towards the Krasny Oktyabr Steel Mill (about one Kilometre south of the Barrikady), bring the HQ of Guryev’s 39th Guards Division under attack.  Meanwhile further north, other elements of the German Division battles their way eastward through the Bread Factory in an attempt the reach the Volga river.   Luckily for the Soviets,  two fresh battalions of Lt-col Sokolov’s 45th Shchors Rifle Division has debarked overnight, taking up positions between the Barrikady and the Krasny Oktyabr Factories.   They have scarcely settled in when a renewed German offensive has commenced.

Soviet Forces.

Elements of the 10th Rifle Regiment

50% rounded down of the total Russian team is the 10th Rifles.   This have 2 hit points due to attrition but can deploy anywhere in the buildings area.

Weapons are Sub Machine Guns (Berserkers) set on fully automatic plus 1 x LMG also on full automatic

Elements of the 45th Rifle Regiment

Enter from south edge of school 5 minutes after mission start.

Replacements

Replacements can be taken any time up to the 40th minute mark, but must be taken all at once.   Up to 50% of the total players can be in the replacements rounded up.  Each replacement is 3 hit points.

German Forces

Deploy at or behind hall. 

Weapons – Pulse Rifles, Old Spitfires, Old SMG’s on Semi Automatic + 1 x LMG on full auto

Replacements: up to 50% rounded up replacements available at the 20th Minute

Victory 

German Win : All Russians Dead or Driven out of buildings

Draw : Any Russians alive in buildings

Russian Win: 50% or more alive Russians in buildings at end of mission

Special Rules 

  • No Radios
